when will leftists realize that survivors of extremely violent and repressive communist regimes speaking about their experiences is not propaganda <3

if your support of an ideology cannot stand up to scrutiny and you cannot hold that ideology in balance with the reality of when its been enacted on a state level, you should not be purporting that ideology in the first place. go back to sleep. and starve.

This is is a very real problem in leftist spaces that should be acknowledged more often. Even worse than the existence of tankies is the fact that they’re tolerated. You’ll see “fashists/nazis DNI”, and justly so, but very rarely “tankies DNI”, because apparently supporting violent imperialistic regimes is okay as long as they’re leftist. People will ignore speaking over Eastern people, including first-hand survivors, on their generational trauma. When a Western leftist performs a literal genocide denial shit (like those “Holodomor was a natural disaster” people), they rarely if ever face much backlash.

Western tankies are inherently Western supremacist, because their narrative of communist utopia is more important to them than death and suffering of millions Eastern people.

Did you guys know the “Sickos” artist made a Sicko thats a WGA screenwriter on strike (said comic artist is a The Onion satirist comic artist and his name is Stan Kelly)

Screenshot from a The Onion satire comic. Man wearing “Sicko Screen-writers” shirt looking through innocent American family window and saying “Yes… ha ha ha… YES!” He and other writers in background all hold signs that say “On Strike.” All writers have a cartoonish expression of joyful malice.ALT

And honestly? What a mood. Haha YES indeed.

Most species of sea snakes spend their entire lives in the ocean. To move in this marine environment their bodies have adapted to be tall, thin blade shapes with long paddle-like tails. They cannot breathe underwater, but their lung extends almost the full length of their body to help them retain oxygen underwater and with buoyancy control.

I hate the trend of just describing books with what minorities the main characters represent and nothing else. not only does it feel weird + exploitative to me it’s also such a shoddy ineffective marketing technique. “this is my book with queer polyam disabled vampires you should buy it” ok great but what is it like. about. what are the themes. why should I read it

Somebody give this ignoramus a piece of actual shark skin and tell him to rub his face with it, let him find out just how “smooth” sharks really are.

Somebody did. I use it as a pillowcase because it’s so smooth.

But buddy.

Shark skin feels exactly like sandpaper. It is made up of tiny teeth-like structures called placoid scales, also known as dermal denticles. These scales point towards the tail and help to reduce friction from surrounding water when the shark swims. … In the opposite direction, it feels very rough like sandpaper.

((Here m8 https://www.floridamuseum.ufl.edu/fish/discover/sharks/basics ))

Buddy. It’s smooth. The link you sent me led to a website that described how smooth they are. I dunno, maybe you don’t know how to read?

this post is transcendent

You’re thinking of dolphins. Dolphins are the ones with smooth skin that feels like a rubber beach ball.
